Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 August 2026 · Applies to the TapBack Android app (com.tapback.app) and this website.
The short version. The links, notes and reminders you save stay on your device. TapBack has no accounts and no server that your saved items are uploaded to. The free version shows a single advertisement, which is served by Google AdMob, and purchases are handled by Google Play and RevenueCat — those three services process data of their own, described below.
1. Who is responsible
TapBack is an independent app published by the developer of TapBack ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, contact recoveryforepic@gmail.com.
2. What TapBack stores on your device
Saved in the app's private storage on your phone, and nowhere else:
- The titles, links, notes, categories and stacks you create.
- The times you schedule items to return, and whether an item is done.
- Your app settings, and the counters used to decide when the Pro screen may appear.
This data is not transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app removes it. Because it is never uploaded, we cannot recover it for you if the device is lost or reset.
3. Permissions and why they are requested
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To deliver a saved item back to you at the time you chose. |
| Exact alarms | So a reminder arrives at the minute you picked instead of whenever the system next wakes. |
| Run at boot | To restore your pending reminders after the phone restarts. |
| Internet | Used to load link previews, serve the advertisement in the free version, and complete purchases. |
| Location (optional) | Only if you choose to attach a place to a reminder, so it can return when you are near that place. The app does not request it otherwise, and location is not sent to us. |
You can revoke any of these in Android settings; the affected feature stops working, the rest of the app does not.
4. Third-party services
Google AdMob (free version only)
The free version shows one sponsored card. It is served by Google AdMob, which receives technical information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type and coarse region in order to serve and measure the ad. We do not send your saved links, notes or reminders to AdMob or to any advertiser. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google privacy & terms. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, and purchasing TapBack Pro removes the ad entirely.
Google Play Billing and RevenueCat (purchases only)
If you buy TapBack Pro, the payment is processed by Google Play — we never see or handle your card details. RevenueCat manages the subscription state on our behalf and receives a pseudonymous app-generated identifier plus the purchase and entitlement details needed to keep Pro unlocked across your devices. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Sites you open from TapBack
Opening a saved link hands it to your browser or to the app that handles it. Whatever happens after that is governed by that site's or app's own privacy policy, not this one.
5. What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email list.
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We do not upload the contents of your saved items anywhere.
- We do not build advertising profiles from what you save.
6. Children
TapBack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will address it.
7. Your rights
Because your content lives on your device, you exercise most rights directly: delete individual items in the app, or clear the app's data or uninstall it to remove everything. For data held by the third parties above, use their own controls — Android's advertising-ID settings for AdMob, and Google Play's subscription and order history for purchases. Depending on where you live you may also have rights of access, correction, deletion or objection under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; write to us and we will help with anything under our control.
8. Retention
Your items are retained on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Purchase records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their own policies, which is typically as long as needed for billing, tax and fraud-prevention obligations.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and a notice appears in the app where a change affects how data is handled.
